Garothir - Hello!

Greetings and such!

My "name" is Garothir, and I've recently begun playing on Arkenstone. And by recently, I mean I started today.

I've had my LOTRO account for a bit short of two years, but only played seriously for a few months. My wife and I were playing another MMO at the same time, and it took priority for awhile. After we quit that other game, I intended to jump back into LOTRO, but then I'd hear about them redoing this or redoing that or completely remaking the "new user experience" and I kept putting off my return.

Well, now I'm finally ready to start playing again, and discovered that a lot of things have changed, and that my old kinship on my original server had pretty much outgrown a casual perpetual-newbie like me, so I thought it best to just get a fresh start. I have no ties to any particular server since most of the people I know who were playing this game have moved on, so I started by looking at the kinship forum on the official site to see if anything caught my eye. Well, this kinship did. By the description and what I've been able to glean from the public portions of this forum, I feel it's the sort of place I can fit in.

I'll never be a hardcore player because I have too many interests to fit into too little time. All I can promise is that when I do play I'll be friendly and helpful -- within the means of a casual perma-newbie, that is.

I have a bit of alt-itis when it comes to MMOs, but I'm going to try to stick mainly to one character, at least until I get a chance to see Moria and Mirkwood and all this other stuff I've paid for and never even gotten close to experiencing. We'll see how that works out. Heh.

My wife also has a lifetime account, and if she starts playing the game again she'll likely follow me here.

Update: In my efforts to find a character I'm really comfortable with, I've switched to Runekeeper. His name is Thortyr.
