Alounthra - Hurrooo
I'm a recent addition to the herd (merely a few days), by way of another recent member -Arowen. Much of the time I'm solo, but am always glad to join in on group fun, and hopefully raids in the near future. I'm a bit of an explorer and have been in game since December, so that leaves much to visit indeed. I've been floating around MMORPG's since around '98, about 3 years from closed beta in Turbine's first release; Asheron's Call -which still holds a special spot in my heart as by far the best content / storyline out there. This was also my first go at running a clan, but we all considered it more of a family, gathering for occasional fun runs through some of the complex and time consuming quests.
After that it was on to Dark Age of Camelot, which I stuck with until a few months after Atlantis expansion, and also returned for the next one for a few months. That was my first foray into PVP, and it was quite a blast with 100+ person Artifact and Keep raids, plus the always enjoyable Battlegrounds system. It was also my first encounter with a real PVE raid, which was at times hectic, but always a rush. Next... the WoW bug struck and I joined a local friend for a good while there, doing more organized PVE raids and various PVP fun. One aspect I enjoyed thoroughly was the plug-in UI customizations, allowing for chained commands, varying button position, conditional hiding and showing, etc. Here was the point I started getting interested with what goes on behind the scenes in a game. Somewhere along the lines I spent a bit of time in Anarchy Online, from Open Beta for a short while (holy bejoojoo the release day bugs were utterly insane). A bunch of clone Asian games, and my favorite game to mod: Freelancer -a pseudo MMO space shooter which the community has dug into heartily in order to bring customization. No documentation, and no source code for reference, some brainy coders have really opened it up quite a bit, and continue to do so nowadays. I helped a wee bit with figuring out mesh animation, and a little with the more obscure material possibilities. First brush with a Hex editor as well But my preference is towards 3d models, and a bit of texturing.I suppose that brings things sufficiently current. As for LoTRO; I just got Supreme Woodworking and Tailoring, Master Metalworker, Master Jeweler, and Expert Weapons crafter. So feel free to ask if anything in those is needed. I'm just getting to areas to support my Tailoring and Woodworking habits, so materials at the top are still a bit scarce. Give me a holler if you need a hand with your Artisan quest also please, it took me a good month of waiting to get my little 24 Jeweler done with his (Thanks Aro!). Anyhow, I'm game for fun and look forward to learning the game more. Just a bit of an introvert, so don't hesitate asking for a hand. |
